Creaking under little paws
The handle jiggles on the door
It happens like it did before
One by one, now, here they come!
The marching meowing cat parade!
First in line, big chongus cries aloud for all to hear
He looks you down with emerald eyes
As if to say, don’t be surprised -
The cat parade is here!
He takes his place upon the rug
Sitting stoic like a king
The leader of the pack and more
The big man has the floor
Now next in line, a clever boy
They call him keeper of the keys
For he can open every door
And shimmy locks if he should please
That’s not to mention his hefty paunch
A rotund missile of curious speed
Dangerous at any range
But now he’s got just what you need
The cat parade is here to stay
Until they’re gone - how long they may
Sojourn here, well, who can say
So enjoy them now, right here, today

You can’t sleep in, no not this way
Not when you see the cat parade

A cross eyed child with a heart of gold
His brain it’s true is made of poo
